There are various types of liposuction methods that can be classified under two major categories. The two major categories on which liposuction can be classified which are based on amount of fluid injected and based on mechanism on injection. The classification is based on amount of fluid injection includes categories which are Dry liposuction and wet liposuction. There is also a category called super wet liposuction. By using laser beams, liposuction can be done which is called as laser assisted liposuction. The latest method and the one with minimal blood loss is the tumescent liposuction. This is cheapest though it requires an expert surgeon. The mechanism based injection type can be classified under the following types. They can be suction assisted and ultra sound assisted. There is also a type which is called as external ultra sound assisted. Two of the other types that are developed include power assisted and water assisted. These are the various types of liposuction surgeries that have been practiced so far. Each has its own uniqueness and application. The surgeon may recommend the type depending on the patient.
