Leaving behind ancient history and coming to the modern history, it was in the year 1926; the first attempt to liposuction was made. In 1926, a French surgeon attempted to cure fat by surgical means. It was a complete failure as there was huge blood loss and negative result. Then many practiced here and there but none was successful.

It was later during 1960s the next major attempt to liposuction was made in Europe and US. But as in the previous case, it resulted in failure. But it showed some positive results. The fact that these produced irregular results made it more complicated and many people started researching into this procedure. The first time a systematic approach was given and provided maximum positive results was in 1982. In this case also it was a French surgeon who found out the procedure. This provided accurate results and they were satisfactory also. This is the brief history of liposuction. The tumescent liposuction was latest of all and developed recently. It gave many positive results and cases of failure were reported rarely. Hence this process can be a safe bet.
